We had a question come up on the Autodesk Inventor Facebook page recently and it's one that I have been asked a couple of times before so thought I'd do a quick tip - How can I change units from degrees to radians? So here you go...
If you're using the measure tool to measure between geometry all you need to do is click on the black arrow in the measure tool, select Dual Unit and then select the unit you wish to show. In the example below I already have Radians set as my default unit for angular measurements, so the alternative is Degrees:
However, if you want to change your default units so that you always use Radians rather than Degrees, you can do this quickly and easily with the Document Options.
First, just click on the Tools ribbon and select Document Options...
Then click on the Units tab and select the default units for your angular measurements:
Having this set to Radians will mean all angular dimensions within sketches and measurements (using the Measure tool) will be shown by default in Radians.
If you change the Document Options for your Inventor part template (standard.ipt) every new part you create will use Radians as the default angular measurement.
