I noticed a question yesterday on Twitter from an Autodesk Inventor user that I follow. He was asking if the dialog boxes that pop up when you want to extrude, revolve, add fillet etc can be turned off. With the addition of the heads-up display that was added in Inventor 2011 the dialogs are used less so having them minimised is a great way to save space and concentrate on the design.
To minimise dialog boxes, all you have to do is this - right mouse click on the header bar of the dialog and select Auto-Hide...
Your dialog boxes in Autodesk Inventor will go from this...
To this....
Giving you more of the graphics window to concentrate on the job in hand. Just move your mouse cursor over the 'rolled up' dialog header and the dialog will expand giving you access to all of the options. Most of which you can access on the heads-up display as well.
You can apply this Auto-Hide option to most of the dialogs such as Extrude, Revolve, Shell, Hole, Move Face, Copy Object to name but a few.
