We're just 8 days from the Autodesk Digital Prototyping Forum being held at Villa Park, Birmingham on 2 November! If you've not registered to attend yet, still wondering if you should attend and what might be in it for you, I thought I;d give you a sneak peek at the sessions I will be presenting on the day.
First up I'll be presenting with Autodesk Alias and Industrial Design guru Robin Oldroyd on the main stage, we'll be presenting an end to end Product Design Suite demonstration which shows all of the capabilities within Product Design Suite, but also how we can re-use data between the different tools. We'll use all of the capabilities within Product Design Suite for tasks such as sketch, paint & illustration, 3D concept & shape exploration, surface design, engineering design, simulation & analysis, visualisation, design review and data management. We'll even include some technical documentation too!
In the afternoon I'm presenting two 60 minute sessions:
- Design Automation and Rules Based Design
- Practical Data Management for Design Engineers
Design Automation and Rules Based Design:
This session will focus on how we can use iLogic within Autodesk Inventor to automate repetitive tasks freeing up time to focus on innovating.
We'll start with a simple example showing the basics of iLogic, how to build a rule and how to use it and the move onto ten different examples of how iLogic can be used in practical examples for things like saving multiple formats of the drawing in one click or automatically applying properties to parts from an Excel spreadsheet.
Practical Data Management for Design Engineers:
Data Management isn't always a design engineers best friend as it can get in the way of doing the job you're there to do. This session will focus on how we can use Autodesk Data Managment tools to work within a secure, managed environment without data management getting in the way of your engineering work.
We'll cover some data mananagment tips & tricks and also look at things like document lifecycles and how they can be implemented ensuring that the right people, have the right information at the right time.
During my breakout sessions there will also be others taking place if you have an interest in them, these will cover:
- Visualisation
- CFD - Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Factory Layout & Optimisation
- Digital Requirement Gathering & Concept Design
- Technical Illustration & Documentation
- Simulation & Analysis
The Digital Prototyping Forum is an even focused at end users of the Autodesk Digital Prototyping solutions such as Inventor, Alias Design, Inventor Publisher, Vault etc but is also very beneficial for design engineers and manufacturers interested in learning more about Autodesk.
