Background
For a few years now Navisworks has been part of Product Design Suite and Factory Design Suite and ever since its development it has been the ideal application to visualise large datasets aggregated from various formats. However when a realistic rendering was required it may not of necessarily the first choice of application for most users.
With the 2014 release Autodesk introduced rapid raytracing technology into the Navisworks viewport and the common enhanced material library, this made it much easier to get a traditional raytraced image output.
Utilise Cloud Rendering within Navisworks
With the 2015 release we now have the ability to utilise the cloud rendering service directly from within Navisworks. This option utilises cloud credits that come with each maintenance subscription licence and is also currently available for AutoCAD, Revit and Fusion 360 users.
What makes this functionality really useful is, as I’m quite often utilising Navisworks to display factories and large scale projects I already have all the data I'd like to visualise in one place.
As long as the user has an Autodesk 360 account, with the new Cloud Render option you can now with one command and with minimum knowledge of how to set it up, create an interactive raytraced panoramic image.
What will the final output look like.
Once completed this image can then be accessed via https://rendering-gallery.360.autodesk.com with any WebGL supported browser (Chrome, Safari) and shared via the users Autodesk 360 account or downloaded and made available via another means.

The output also supports viewing and manipulation via a mobile device. So as long as you have a WebGL supported browser the scene interaction can be controlled either via touch or via the devices gyroscope, so moving the tablet around will also look around the scene.
